Kent Association of Scottish Societies

Wealden Scottish Dancers

You can enjoy Scottish Country Dancing in Hawkhurst

Do you want to keep fit, have fun and make new friends?

If so, why not join us on Monday evenings from September to the end of May. Our members come from many surrounding villages including Sandhurst, Wadhurst, Ticehurst, Hurst Green, Robertsbridge, Biddenden and Staplehurst!

We are a small, informal club and for three Mondays each month an experienced club member takes the class and each dance is walked through first. Once a month we enjoy the tuition of a qualified teacher, and again, each dance is walked through first.

We meet at the Baptist Church Hall, Cranbrook Road, Hawkhurst, Kent. TN18 4BT. (Access to the car park is at the rear of the hall in Western Road – opposite Martins the kitchen shop). We start at 8.00 pm and finish at 10 pm and we have a coffee break midway. We charge £4 per session to cover hall hire and refreshments.

Your first “taster” session is FREE

We welcome new members and guests. If you have some experience so much the better, no matter how rusty. It all helps. If you would like a beginners or refresher session of steps and dancing terms and formations then this can probably be arranged before class.

We do not arrange social dances ourselves but we regularly receive the programmes for dances organised by other dance societies and we often rehearse several dances from their programmes if requested.
